The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) today announced the opening of a new integrated outpatient and opioid treatment program in Elmira. The new facility is operated by CASA-Trinity and is being supported with $250,000 in federal funding administered by OASAS.

“Providing an array of treatment options is vital to helping people impacted by addiction find the help and support that is right for them. No two individuals are the same, and what works for one person may not be the best approach for another,” OASAS Commissioner Chinazo Cunningham said. “Thanks to this new program, people seeking treatment in the Southern Tier will be able to more easily find the appropriate care that they need to support their overall health.”

This program is part of an initiative designed to develop more patient-centered comprehensive care models, and to expand access to a range of services throughout New York State. Earlier this year, OASAS awarded nearly $3.5 million in federal funding received through the Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment Block Grant Supplemental Award to support the creation of these programs throughout the state.

The new facility is located at 911 Stowell Street in Elmira, and will offer comprehensive services for addiction, including all three types of FDA-approved medication for addiction, as well as counseling, education, and connections to other services.

“The addition of integrated Opioid treatment services is great news for this community,” said Ann Domingos, CEO of CASA-Trinity, Inc. “Since the pandemic the Southern Tier region has seen a consistent increase in opioid use disorder which continues to grow.”

The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports oversees one of the nation’s largest substance use disorder systems of care with approximately 1,700 prevention, treatment and recovery programs serving over 680,000 individuals per year. This includes the direct operation of 12 Addiction Treatment Centers where our doctors, nurses, and clinical staff provide inpatient and residential services to approximately 8,000 individuals per year. OASAS is the single designated state agency responsible for the coordination of state-federal relations in the area of addiction services.
