State Parks Seeks to Develop Merchandise Product Line For Exclusive Imagery

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) today announced a new concession opportunity seeking a partner to develop an e-commerce website that will be the primary source for a merchandise line incorporating newly developed licensed imagery.

The RFP offers the opportunity to market some of New York State’s most recognizable and cherished destinations, including state parks such as Allegany, Bear Mountain, Buffalo Harbor, Green Lakes, Keewaydin, Letchworth, Moreau, Planting Fields Arboretum, Rockefeller Preserve, Shirley Chisolm, and Taughannock Falls.

Details of this new opportunity and RFP include:

  • The concession will be the sole online source with exclusive online licensing rights for the sale of State Parks-approved products featuring copywritten illustrations and graphics;
  • Responsibilities include website development, order processing, customer service, product design, complete order fulfillment, and coordinating with State Parks to promote products;
  • Proposals utilizing quality print-on-demand services, cross-sector partnerships, and similar means to execute production and delivery of high-quality clothing and collectible goods representing State Parks are encouraged;
  • Production should provide a broad diversity of types and sizes of high-quality products, including, but not limited to t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, prints, coffee mugs, pins, stickers, magnets, and tote bags to meet wide-ranging patron/consumer demands.
  • As the online source for exclusive State Parks license products, the Licensee will work in cooperation with State Parks’ and its partners to support on-site retail sales of such merchandise within park facilities across New York State, in addition to direct sales to the public,

Proposals are due by 2:00 PM on Monday, February 1, 2021. For more information or to receive a copy of the Request for Proposals (RFP), please contact State Parks’ Concessions Management Bureau at concessions@parks.ny.gov or 518-486-2932.
