Statement from MTA Chief Safety and Security Officer Patrick Warren on the Arrest of an Assault Suspect by the NYPD

“NYPD Transit officers again demonstrated their professionalism and commitment to protecting subway riders when they apprehended a violent criminal on a northbound #6 train after recognizing him from a wanted flyer related to a stabbing the day before. This arrest removed another weapon from the transit system. We have repeatedly said that it is a priority to stop bad actors before they can commit crimes against other New Yorkers.”

On Background:

The original stabbing incident happened on Wednesday, June 1 at the 149th Street/3rd Avenue station.
Arrest was made at 7:49 p.m. on June 2 on a Northbound #6 train at Brooklyn Bridge Station.
