Rock Tavern, NY (October 2, 2017) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Northeast Carpenters Apprenticeship Fund will conduct a recruitment from November 2, 2017 through November 1, 2018 for four lather (carpenter) apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the four openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions - the Capital District and Hudson Valley regions. Applications must be obtained in person at the Northeast Carpenters Apprenticeship Fund Training Center, 52 Stone Castle Road, Rock Tavern, NY, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Thursday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applicants should be prepared to take a math and measurement computation test, at the time of application. Applicants must attest to the qualifications, as listed below, in a signed statement. They must also provide required documents of proof when offered a position. Failure to provide the required proofs will result in immediate dismissal from the program. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
