Insulation & Asbestos Workers Recruit Apprentices |

Long Island City, NY (January 14, 2021) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Heat & Frost Insulators, Local Union #12, will conduct a recruitment from March 1, 2021 through March 12, 2021 for 20 Insulation and Asbestos Worker apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the 20 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions – the Long Island and New York City regions of the state. To obtain an application, applicants must email their request, along with their first and last name to Local12AJEF@gmail.com, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the recruitment period. Requests received outside of this time period, on the weekend, or prior to or after the recruitment dates will be disqualified. Applications will be distributed by email and will include instructions for next steps to return applications. Applicants will need to print and complete applications. Applicants who do not have access to a printer may want to check with their local library or New York State Department of Labor Career Center. This is a limited-application recruitment. Only 400 applications will be distributed, on a first-come, first-serve basis. The recruitment will be offered for 10 business days or until the 400 applications have been issued, whichever comes first. A $25.00 testing fee will be charged to each applicant. A money order for $25, made out to Local 12 AJEF must be returned with the application. Please note: This fee may be waived upon request. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
