The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) on Thursday evening, Feb. 29, held the first of four public hearings on the proposed congestion pricing toll schedule, hearing from 89 speakers in just over four hours of testimony.

Each speaker was given up to two minutes to address a panel of MTA leaders and board members including: MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber; MTA General Counsel Paige Graves; MTA Chief Accessibility Officer and Senior Advisor Quemuel Arroyo; President of MTA Bridges and Tunnels Catherine Sheridan; MTA Chief, Policy and External Relations John J. McCarthy; Deputy Chief, Policy and External Relations Juliette Michaelson, and MTA Board Members Andrew Albert, Norman Brown, Blanca Lopez and Midori Valdivia.

Two thirds of speakers attended the meeting in person, while remaining attendees provided comments over Zoom.

There are three more hearings scheduled before the MTA Board is slated to adopt a recommendation. The next hearing is scheduled for Friday, March 1, at 10:00 a.m., and the final two hearings will be held on Monday, March 4, at 10:00 a.m., and at 6:00 p.m.
