Snowmaking is underway at Whiteface Mountain

WILMINGTON, N.Y. --- The snowguns have been turned on and snowmaking is underway on Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y. Crews began making snow, last Saturday, Nov. 13, top to bottom, on Little Whiteface, covering the Excelsior, Summit Express, Upper and Lower Valley and the Lower Fox trails.

 

Snowmaking will continue tonight, into Tuesday morning and Tuesday evening, in anticipation of opening day, Friday, November 27, 2015.

Established in 1982, the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) was created by the State of New York to manage the facilities used during the 1980 Olympic Winter Games at Lake Placid.
