WILMINGTON, N.Y. (Nov. 18, 2016) --- The high efficiency, low energy snow guns are in place and snowmaking at Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y, resumes this Sunday, Nov. 20, as the Olympic mountain prepares for the opening of the 2016-‘17 skiing and riding season, Friday, Nov. 25. Media is invited to learn more about mountain’s snowmaking operations as it blankets its “high usage” trails to include Excelsior, Summit Express, Upper Valley and Lower Valley with snow. WHAT: Field trip of Whiteface Mountain’s behind the scenes and on-hill snowmaking operations WHO: Whiteface Mountain snowmaking staff and management to include mountain general manager Aaron Kellett WHERE: Whiteface Mountain, 5021 Route 86, Wilmington, N.Y., 12997 WHEN: Tuesday, Nov. 22, 9 a.m. Media is asked to gather at the Whiteface Mountain Guest Services Desk by 8:45 a.m. Please dress appropriately for the weather and conditions WHY: Your opportunity to learn about snowmaking operations as Whiteface Mountain prepares for the 2016-’17 skiing and riding season.
