Winter Sports Capital of the World brings you Extreme Tubing this Summer

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- If you're seeking excitement this summer, the Olympic Jumping Complex, in Lake Placid, N.Y. has you covered with extreme tubing.  Hop in and hold on as you rocket down the landing hills of the 20 meter, 48 meter and 90 meter ski jumps, approaching speeds of 50 miles-per-hour.

Beginning Saturday, July 5, extreme tubing will be available Tuesday through Saturday from 3:30-6:30 p.m.  Additional hours are also being offered Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from noon- 2 p.m.

The cost is $8 per hour on the 20 meter hill and $12 per hour for those who want to experience the 48 meter hill. The cost for the 90 meter hill is $35 per hour.

One person per tube, participants must be at least eight years-old to attempt the 48 meter hill and 13 years-old to slide down the 90 meter hill.  They must also take at least one run down the 48 meter hill before attempting the larger hill.

Be sure to follow up your adventure at the Olympic Jumping Complex with a visit to the Olympic Center on Main St., and take a Zamboni passenger ride on the hallowed ice of the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena.  Guests sit beside one of the center’s professional drivers as they make ice between skating sessions and hockey games.

Offered Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the cost is $40 per person.
