Niagara Falls, NY (June 5, 2017) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Niagara County Electricians Local Union #237 will conduct a recruitment from July 5, 2017 through June 27, 2018 for four Electrician (House or Residential) apprentices and four Electrician apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions - the Finger Lakes and Western regions. Applications can be completed at Local Union #237, 8803 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every Wednesday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. All applications must be completed on the premises. Applicants must pay a $10.00 testing fee at the time of application. Please note: You may request that this fee be waived. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
