Harvard at Yale Highlight this Weekend’s ECAC Men’s Ice Hockey Play

Tickets on Sale Now for 2015 ECAC Hockey Championship Tournament, March 20-21 in Lake Placid

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- On one of the biggest stages in all of sports, third ranked Harvard will look to avenge their only loss of the season when they square off Saturday night, Jan. 10, against Yale at Madison Square Garden, in New York City.

Harvard has been the surprise team of the season, opening ECAC Hockey play ranked ninth by the conference coaches. Since falling to 19th ranked Yale, 2-1, on Nov. 15, the Crimson are on a seven-game winning streak en route to a 10-1-2 overall record and 6-1-2 league mark, good enough for second place in the conference standings.

Yale (8-4-2, 4-3-1) skated to post-Christmas victories over Holy Cross and 12th ranked Vermont, but on Tuesday they fell to Northeastern, 3-2, even after jumping out to a two goal lead in the first period. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the fourth-seeded Bulldogs.

In other games, league leading and 15th ranked Quinnipiac (13-6-1, 8-2) opens conference road play in the new year when they travel to face RPI (4-5-0, 6-15-1), losers of eight straight, Friday. They follow up that game in Troy, N.Y. with a quick trip to Schenectady, N.Y. where they will square off against reigning national champions Union College (3-4-1, 10-7-2) on Saturday. The Dutchmen are currently tied with Colgate and Dartmouth for seventh place in the league standings.

Clarkson (7-8-4, 4-1-2), who sits third in conference play will hit the road to face number-17 Colgate (11-6-1, 3-2-1) , Friday, and Cornell (5-6-2, 3-3-0) on Saturday.
