COMMISSIONER REARDON PARTNERS WITH U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS TO OFFER CENTRAL NEW YORK CAREER FAIRJob Seekers Encouraged to Pre-Register Here |

State Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon announced today that more than 180 businesses will offer over 6,400 job opportunities at the Central New York Career Fair. The event will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at the SRC Arena on the campus of Onondaga Community College from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is presented by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Onondaga Community College, and the New York State Department of Labor. Additionally, the VA will have staff on hand to assist veterans interested in enrolling in VA healthcare. More than 10 businesses are expected to conduct on-site job interviews, including:

Registration Encouraged “Working with our community partners at the New York State Department of Labor and Onondaga Community College, we believe we can help job many Veteran job seekers, as well as members of the general public, find career and employment opportunities by directly connecting hiring businesses with the talented workers they need to drive their operations,” said Mark Antinelli, Syracuse VA Human Resources Manager. "Transitioning from military to civilian life can be difficult for many Veterans returning home. The stability and security that a job offers during this time of adjustment for Veterans is crucial to a smooth transition. The New York State Department of Labor provides a great service to this nation's heroes by offering them opportunities to demonstrate to employers and businesses the benefits they gain from hiring Veterans," said Eric J.
