Preregister Here to Avoid Waiting on the Registration Line

The New York State Office of General Services (OGS) has added an Alfa Romeo Spider convertible, Volkswagen Beetle convertible, two Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and approximately 400 pieces of marble to the list of items the public can bid on at the next NYS surplus vehicle, highway equipment, and miscellaneous property auction in Albany. The auction is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19 at the Harriman State Office Building Campus. Items being sold will be available for inspection beginning at 8 a.m. on the day of the auction.

In addition to the hundreds of vehicles, pieces of highway equipment, and other surplus items up for sale, the auction will feature:

• A 1974 Volkswagen Beetle convertible seized by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) with 268,890 miles and a NYS rebuilt salvage title. 

• A 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider convertible seized by the DMV with a NYS rebuilt salvage title. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. 

• Two 1998 Harley-Davidson police motorcycles that are not considered drivable and are being sold for parts. These were the first two motorcycles the New York State Police acquired when it reinstituted its Motorcycle Unit in 1997. 

• 395 pieces of marble approximately 3 feet tall by 5 feet wide and 2 inches thick. The marble is divided among 24 lots that will be auctioned separately. The lots range in size from 25 to 50 pieces of marble.

In recent years, OGS has auctioned several luxury vehicles and sports cars that were seized by different State entities, including a 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Nera, 2017 Bentley Flying Spur W12 S, 2013 Mercedes G63,  2012 Porsche Cayenne, and a 2012 Audi A7.

All bidders must register to participate in the auction. Bidders can preregister online here to avoid waiting in line during the on-site registration period.
