Metro-North and Playland Park Kick Off Summer Season

Popular Discount Rail and Family Amusement Park Package on Sale

Take a spin on the carousel. Stroll along the boardwalk. Bring the family. Bring a friend. What better way to spend a summer day than at Rye Playland Amusement Park?

Metro-North Railroad is offering customers a special travel and discounted ticket deal to Playland Park, which opens to the public on Saturday, May 11 and is located within easy reach from the Rye station. This discount package to Rye Playland makes a visit to the amusement park an affordable and accessible family excursion. With nearly 7,000 packages to Playland sold last year, it’s one of the railroad’s most popular getaway destinations.

“I’m delighted that Metro-North will continue offering this getaway deal to Rye Playland to our customers,” said Catherine Rinaldi, Metro-North Railroad President.  “Metro-North is so much more than a commuter railroad; it provides direct, safe and economical travel to some of the best tourist attractions, scenic venues and cultural destinations in our region.”

Playland, which is owned by Westchester County, is a favorite New York state tourist attraction. From the famous Dragon Coaster to rides like the SuperFlight Coaster, Music Express and Double Shot —Playland Park offers the best in family fun. There are more than 50 major and Kiddyland rides and attractions; a beach, pool, and pier on Long Island Sound; lake boating, entertainment, fireworks, lots of great food, and much more.

“Playland is a classic summer destination – in fact it isn’t really summer until you have visited Playland,” said Westchester County Executive George Latimer. “Come for the rides, cotton candy, beach, mini golf, laser show, musically acts – and so much more.  I’ll meet you at the Dragon Coaster!”
