LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (February 6, 2015) --- The gold medal winning 1980 USA Hockey Team, who achieved what Sports Illustrated proclaimed, “the greatest sports moment of the 20^th century” with their “Miracle on Ice” victory over the Soviet Union, will participate in a special event using video, audio and photos to relive the game, through their perspective, in Lake Placid, N.Y.  This February marks the 35^th anniversary of their historic achievement.

The 1980 Rink – Herb Brooks Arena will open its doors to fans on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. for an exclusive event with the players hosted by 11-time Emmy Award winner Todd Walsh, who has worked with FOX Sports Arizona since 2001. 

WHO: Players from the famed 1980 USA Hockey Team that claimed the improbable gold medal during the Lake Placid, N.Y. Olympic Winter Games. Todd Walsh, of FOX Sports Arizona, will narrate the event.

WHAT: A gathering of the famed 1980 USA Hockey Team and the public to celebrate the 35^th anniversary of the team’s “Miracle on Ice” victory over the Soviet Union en route to the improbable Olympic gold medal. The evening will also include the raising of fallen teammate Bob Suter’s jersey to the rafters of the 1980 Rink-Herb Brooks Arena.
