State Park Police Train to Keep Snowmobile Trails Safe

International Snowmobile Safety Week is January 17-25, 2015

Who:            New York State Park Police

What:           Snowmobile operation and safety training of State Park Police recruits

When:          1 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Where:         New York State Park Police Training Academy, 16 Camp Cass Way, Rensselaerville, NY 12147

To highlight the upcoming International Snowmobile Safety Week, January 17-25, media are invited to witness a session of snowmobile operations and safety training undertaken by all State Park Police recruits, as part of their six-month training academy. State Park Police help keep the state’s 10,400-mile snowmobile trail network safe, as well as participate in the state’s multi-agency response to major emergencies. Park Police officers will be available for interviews, including officers who recently assisted stranded motorists and transported medical personnel during a severe November storm in Western New York.
