Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Recruit Apprentices

Watertown, NY (February 1, 2021) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers, Local Union #2 (Ogdensburg), will conduct a recruitment from May 5, 2021 through April 29, 2022 for three Bricklayer, Mason and Plasterer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.

Applications are available and must be completed in person at: Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers, Local Union #2 (Ogdensburg), 7705 Maltlage Drive, Liverpool, NY, on the first Wednesday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications can also be obtained during the recruitment period online at www.bac2nyvt.org.

The Committee requires that applicants:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED).
  • Must be physically able to lift 50-100 lbs.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites and required classes at the approved school.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicles.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
