$900 Million State Parks Plan Revealed

NY Parks 2020 Outlines Investment into State Parks System until Year 2020

On Monday March 2, 2015 at 11:00a.m., eve of Park Advocacy Day, State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey will unveil Governor Cuomo’s $900 million NY Parks 2020 plan. The seven-point plan represents the vision to transform and revitalize the State park system for the 21st century.
 
NY Parks 2020 is a multi-year commitment to leverage a broad range of private and public funding to invest approximately $900 million into State Parks from 2011-2020 including $110 million proposed in the 2015-2016 Executive Budget.
 
State Parks Commissioner Harvey will present the plan at Saratoga Spa State Park, a flagship park where NY Parks 2020 investment has and will continue to transform the park.
 
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation oversees 180 state parks and 35 historic sites, and 29 golf courses which are visited by 62 million people annually.
