Take MTA Long Island Rail Road to See Paul Simon at Forest Hills Stadium on Thurs. June 30 & Fri. July 1

Ramping-up Service at Forest Hills Station for Queens Boy’s Concerts

MTA Long Island Rail Road is making extra stops at Forest Hills Station to accommodate fans heading to Forest Hills Stadium to see Paul Simon in concert on Thursday, June 30 and Friday, July 1. The Forest Hllls appearances mark Simon’s final two performances on a concert tour that began in April. It is also a homecoming for the Queens native who last played Forest Hills in July 1970 on Simon and Garfunkel's tour after the release of their hit “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”  Simon grew up in nearby Kew Gardens Hills and graduated from Forest Hills High School.

Plenty of Trains Stopping at Forest Hills Station.

Between 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., 15 eastbound trains and 14 westbound trains are scheduled to stop at Forest Hills Station. Simon’s show begin at 7:30 p.m. and the LIRR is running 11 eastbound trains and 10 westbound trains between 8:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. to get customers home. With the shorter platform length at Forest Hills Station, only the first four cars of a train can platform. So concert goers should make sure they are situated in the first four cars beforehand.
