NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y. – Nora Murphy of New Hyde Park, Nassau County won a $10,000,000 Lottery prize on the new $10,000 A Week For Life scratch-off game.

On Friday, September 13, Nora was doing her laundry in a local Laundromat. She followed her normal routine and walked over to the pharmacy to buy some Lottery tickets.  She scratched a few tickets and won $20 so she decided to buy one final ticket.

Nora bought the Lottery’s $10,000 A Week For Life scratch-off game because it was a new game and to be able to enter the Win for Life Sweepstakes. She scratched her ticket right in the pharmacy, and when she realized she hit the jackpot, she said she was shocked.

Nora signed her winning ticket right away and then ran back over to the Laundromat to put her laundry in the dryer. She then immediately drove to the Lottery’s Garden City Customer Service Center to claim her prize.

Nora purchased her ticket at Lakeville Pharmacy at 749 Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park.

When asked what her plans are for her Lottery winnings, Nora said, “I have a lot of friends in Ireland, so I want to make a trip there to see them. After that, I’ll think about my future plans.”
