DEC ANNOUNCES 2022 MAINTENANCE ON UPPER SARANAC RIVER LOCKS AND CORRESPONDING CAMPSITE CLOSURES IN 2022

Saranac Lake Islands Campground Sites 63-87 to Close

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced it will temporarily close the upper locks on the Saranac River in late spring of 2022 to complete necessary maintenance. From May 20 through June 30, 2022, camp sites 63 through 87 at the Saranac Lake Islands Campground will be temporarily closed, and reservations will not be available. Camp sites on Lower Saranac Lake will be available for reservation beginning Aug. 20, 2021.
