Santas Ski for Free Sunday at Whiteface Mountain

WILMINGTON, N.Y. – ‘Tis the season for snow, skiing, and Santa.  Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y., is celebrating with the third annual Santas Ski Free Day, this Sunday, Dec.9.

Guests, who dress as Mr. or Mrs. Claus, participate in a group photo and arrive by 10 a.m., receive a free lift ticket to ski or ride the Olympic mountain. Those who do not have a jolly red suit can donate a new toy (valued over $10) or a gently used winter coat and receive 50% off a lift ticket for the day. All donations will be collected by volunteers from the Boy Scouts of America and the Saranac Lake Key Club.

Weekend festivities also include the Lake Placid Holiday Village Stroll, Friday through Sunday. With a skating party, Santa meet and greets and a bustling Main Street filled with holiday shopping deals, live music, and a tree lighting ceremony, the holiday tradition makes for a spirited and merry occasion at Whiteface Lake Placid.

Whiteface Mountain is off to a great start to the skiing and snowboarding season. The Olympic mountain opened ahead of schedule, Saturday, Nov. 17, and today 25 trails are open for all levels and abilities.

Every Wednesday, excluding holidays, it’s Why Not Wednesday at Whiteface. Present any unopened Dasani or Coca-Cola product on Wednesdays to the mountain’s ticket window and get a one-day lift ticket for just $48 (Limit one ticket per Coca-Cola product).
