State Parks Commissioner Harvey Participates in ‘I Love My Park Day’ at Gantry Plaza State Park

Nearly 60 volunteers to join in cleanup of waterfront park in Queens

What:              Leader of state park system will join volunteers in the cleanup of Gantry Plaza State Park as part of the statewide ‘I Love My Park Day’ celebration

When:            9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018

Where:           Gantry Plaza State Park, 4-09 47th Road, Long Island City, NY 11101

This year, 8,000 volunteers of all ages are expected to help improve 135 parks and historic sites through projects ranging from general park clean-up, such as debris and trash pick-up, and invasive plant and species removal to beautification efforts such as planting flowers and trees, weed removal, reseeding, painting, installation of benches and picnic tables, trail maintenance and much more.
