Winter Ice Spectacular Returns to Lake Placid Feb. 16

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- The Olympic Center, in Lake Placid, N.Y., is excited to host the Winter Ice Spectacular for its second year. This must see ice skating performance brings together some of the world’s most popular and accomplished figure skaters into one action packed show. This year’s spectacle is on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m.

About the performers:

Mirai Nagasu a U.S. Champion and 2010 Olympian. She is the 2011 Four Continents bronze medalist, a two-time medalist at the World Junior Championships and a four-time U.S. national medalist. In 2008, Nagasu became the youngest woman since Tara Lipinski in 1997 to win the U.S. senior ladies title, and the second youngest in history.

Ryan Bradley is a U.S. Champion and World Competitor and as a cast member of Stars on Ice, he’s well known for his entertaining performances and of course his dazzling backflips. Bradley is the 2008 Skate Canada International silver medalist, the 2009 Skate America bronze medalist, the 2011 U.S. National Champion, and a three-time U.S. Collegiate champion.

Kim Navarro & Brent Bommentre are U.S. medalists as well as world competitors. The duo won the bronze medal at the 2008 U.S. national Championships, and was chosen to represent the United States at the 2008 Four Continents, where they finished in third. Fans will recognize them from Glee and America’s Got Talent.

Ashley Cain began competing on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series in 2011 and won silver on the junior level at the 2012 U.S. Championships. When Cain won the bronze medal at the 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy, it was her first-career international medal.  Cain is also very comfortable skating in the Olympic center, staking in front of fans.  Her dad, Peter Cain, competed in pairs during the 1980 Olympic Winter Games.

Ben Agosto is the 2006 Olympic silver medalist, a four-time World medalist, the 2004–2006 Four Continents champion, and 2004–2008 U.S. champion.

There will also be skaters from the Dartmouth College Figure Skating Team, who are currently the U.S. Intercollegiate National Champions.

Tickets for the Winter Ice Spectacular are $15 for adults, $10 for children. A family four-pack can be purchased for $40. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, or at the door on the day of the show.
