TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- The New York Lottery today announced a top prize winning ticket for an August 17 Quick Draw drawing was sold at Harry’s Gulf Express at 265 Delaware Street in Tonawanda. The winning ticket is worth $100,000.

Steven Wienckowski of Tonawanda claimed the $100,000 prize on August 18 at the Lottery’s Buffalo Customer Service Center. He is the first top prize winner since the May 1, 2014 drawing. “This is a fantastic prize that Mr. Wienckowski claimed on the ever popular Quick Draw game, which on September 6 will have its 20th anniversary here in New York,” said Gardner Gurney, Acting Director of the Division of the Lottery.

Quick Draw is available at more than 8,500 restaurants, bars, bowling centers, and other larger retailer locations. Players choose up to 10 numbers from the field of 1 through 80, and every four minutes the New York Lottery's computer randomly selects 20 numbers from the field and displays them on a special Quick Draw monitor.

About the New York Lottery

The New York Lottery continues to be North America’s largest and most profitable Lottery, contributing $3.11 billion in fiscal year 2014-2015 to help support education in New York State.  The Lottery’s contribution represents 14 percent of total state education aid to local school districts.

New York Lottery revenue is distributed to local school districts by the same statutory formula used to distribute other state aid to education.  It takes into account both a school district’s size and its income level; larger, lower-income school districts receive proportionately larger shares of Lottery school funding.
