Clay, NY (April 29, 2020) - The Central New York Electrical Training Alliance will conduct a recruitment from July 8, 2020 through June 9, 2021 for 25 Electrician apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the 25 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for the Central, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, and Southern Tier regions of the state. Applications can be obtained at the Central New York Electrical Training Alliance, 4566 Waterhouse Road, Clay, NY, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the second Wednesday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications will be accepted online every day of every month on www.cnyjatc.org. If an applicant cannot gain access to a computer, one will be made available to them during normal business hours. Applicants who do not have internet access may visit their local library or their nearest New York State Department of Labor Career Center (see: https://www.labor.ny.gov/career-center-locator/location-list-all.php). Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
