Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Recruit Apprentices |

Yorkville, NY (January 14, 2017) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers, Local Union #2 (Utica), will conduct a recruitment from February 14, 2017 through January 9, 2018 for three bricklayer, mason, and plasterer apprentices and three pointer, caulker, and cleaner apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Applications may be obtained at Whitestone A of A Veterans, 174 Whitesboro Street, Yorkville, NY, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. If the second Tuesday of the month falls on a holiday, there will be no recruitment that month. For additional information, or to request an application, applicants may call (315) 622-2081. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
