State and Local Officials To Host a Roundtable on Addressing Poverty in Newburgh |

ALBANY – Governor Cuomo’s Interagency Coordinator for Nonprofit Organizations Fran Barrett, Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Commissioner Samuel D. Roberts, and representatives from New York State Homes and Community Renewal and NYS Grants Reform team will host a roundtable on addressing poverty in Newburgh. The roundtable will feature a progress report from Governor Cuomo’s Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative in Newburgh. The roundtable will also offer a presentation on the New York State Grants Gateway Portal and how not-for-profit organizations can apply for state funding. Members of the press are invited to attend. Roberts Representatives from Homes and Community Renewal Representatives from NYS Grants Reform team WHAT: The city of Newburgh has been selected to take part in Governor Cuomo’s Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative (ESPRI), a $25 million initiative to help support community-driven, poverty reduction strategies that increase economic opportunity for all New Yorkers. We will provide an update on the progress of the ESPRI and will be discussing current and upcoming programs to benefit the cities’ residents. We will offer a presentation on the New York State Grants Gateway Portal and how not-for-profit organizations involved in the poverty initiative can apply for state funding.
