TEA AND GIFT SHOP COMING TO THE CONCOURSE

Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner RoAnn Destito today announced Practical Magic Tea, a new tea and gift shop that will be opening on the Empire State Plaza concourse in September.

“Practical Magic Tea will be a welcome addition to the Empire State Plaza,” Commissioner Destito said. “The new gift and tea shop will be the latest addition to a growing list of local restaurants and businesses that OGS has attracted to the Empire State Plaza to expand dining and shopping options for the thousands of people who work and visit here each day.”

“I am very excited about coming to the Empire State Plaza and opening one of two tea and gift shops aptly named Practical Magic; the second location will open soon at the Catalpa House in historic Rensselaerville,” proprietor Lori Kelley said. “Now everyone can enjoy a hand-blended cup of hot or cold tea and visit Albany’s only underground tea and gift shop. I also want to thank OGS for providing me with the opportunity to locate my business in this iconic Albany structure. I look forward to other businesses following in my footsteps.”

Practical Magic Tea will feature Divinitea’s local and certified organic hand-blended hot, cold and loose tea, as well as candies and chocolates, greeting cards, flowers and terrariums, and handmade gifts. The shop will be located next to Key Bank and will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
