BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The clock is ticking for two mystery New York Powerball winners who now have just a few weeks left to claim their $1,000,000 Lottery prizes. Both winning Powerball tickets were sold in Brooklyn.

A winning ticket from the May 11, 2013 Powerball drawing and was sold at the Shop Smart Food Mart at 238 Prospect Park West in Brooklyn and will expire on May 11, 2014. Another winning ticket from the May 15, 2013 Powerball drawing was sold at Thriftway Church Avenue Drug at 1621 Church Avenue in Brooklyn and will expire on May 15, 2014.

“Time is running out for the winners of these $1,000,000 prizes but we are still hopeful the players will come forward soon to claim their prizes,” said Gardner Gurney, Acting Director of the Division of the Lottery. “We are urging players to check and double-check their tickets one last time for the chance to claim one million dollars.”

The winning ticket matched five of the six numbers from the May 11, 2013 Powerball drawing: 06 – 13 – 19 – 23 – 43, missing only the Powerball number of 16. The winning ticket matched five of the six numbers from the May 15, 2013 Powerball drawing: 02 – 11 – 26 – 34 – 41, missing only the Powerball number of 32.

Prizes can be claimed up to a year after the drawing, which means the lucky winners have only a few weeks left to collect the $1,000,000 Lottery prizes.

Lottery officials recommend that the ticket holder sign the back of the ticket and contact them immediately at 518-388-0563. The winner may claim the ticket at any one of the Lottery’s Customer Service Centers statewide, including the Manhattan office at 15 Beaver Street, New York, NY 10004, and the Long Island office at 45 South Service Road, Plainview, NY 11803. As is always the case, in the event a prize is not claimed by the deadline, the prize money will be returned to the prize pool for future winners. It is used to subsidize prizes for jackpots, promotions and/or special one-time games.
