MTA Announces Full Service Expected to be Restored on 8th Avenue A C E Line for Monday Rush |

MTA New York City Transit today announced it expects full service to be restored on the “The dedicated NYC Transit workforce has been working nonstop to restore service for customers,” said NYCT Interim President Sarah Feinberg. “Full service is expected to resume in time for the Monday morning rush, though customers should continue to check for service updates as there will be residual delays. Once again I want to thank our incredible crews and employees, as well as our customers for their patience.” A northbound
 train derailed Sunday after an individual allegedly placed debris on the tracks. The train's first car scraped four columns that separate the northbound express track from the southbound express track.The 134 passengers on board were safely evacuated from the train. New York City Transit personnel continue to work around the clock to inspect several hundred feet of track, columns and third rail for damage and make necessary repairs. lines on 8th Avenue by 5:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21 following a vandalism-caused derailment at 14th St station. As a result of herculean efforts by dozens of maintenance and repair crews, hundreds of feet of damage to tracks, third rails and pillars are expected to be sufficiently repaired and replaced in time for the morning rush, with northbound express delays likely in the 14th Street area.
