DEC ANNOUNCES PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS FISHERIES MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH IN EASTERN LAKE ONTARIO TRIBUTARIES

Fisheries Meeting Scheduled on Sept. 9 at Salmon River Fish Hatchery

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Bureau of Fisheries biologists and managers will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, in Altmar, Oswego County. This meeting is hosted by the Tug Hill Black River Trout Unlimited Chapter to highlight Lake Ontario sport fisheries and discuss management actions and research taking place on the Lake Ontario eastern end tributaries, including the Salmon River. 

DEC encourages interested anglers and outdoor enthusiasts to attend. Registration is not required. 

When: Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Where: Salmon River Fish Hatchery, 2133 County Route 22, Altmar, NY 13302
