LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- The 2018 Olympic Winter Games are in the rear-view mirror and now the world’s best luge athletes begin focusing on the Beijing, China Winter Games, just four years away. The journey towards those Games has already begun and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15-16, the world’s best luge athletes are in Lake Placid N.Y. for the fourth stop on the nine-race Viessmann World Cup Luge Tour. Ahead of both the Viessmann World Cup and the BMW Sprint Cup, athletes, officials, volunteers and fans were getting into the holiday spirit, Friday, as Santa Claus made a visit and slid down the mile-long Mt. Van Hoevenberg combined bobsled/luge/skeleton track. The below FTP link contains footage of Santa Claus’ run.
