Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Recruit Apprentices |

Rochester, NY (June 3, 2014) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers, Local Union #3 (Rochester), will conduct a recruitment from July 3, 2014 through June 4, 2015 for 16 bricklayer and mason apprentices, four tile setter apprentices, and three tile, marble, and terrazzo finisher apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera announced today. Applications can be completed on-site at the Bricklayers Training Center, 3750 Monroe Avenue, Pittsford, NY, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. For further information, applicants should contact their nearest New York State Department of Labor office or Local Union #3 at (585) 641-0750. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
