Electricians Recruit Apprentices
Niagara Falls, NY (May 16, 2013) - The Niagara County Electricians Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, Local Union #237, will conduct a recruitment from May 8, 2013 through May 7, 2014 for four electrician (house or residential) apprentices and ten electrician apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera announced today. Applications can be obtained at the Local Union #237, 8803 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on every Wednesday, except legal holidays, during the recruitment period. All applications must be completed on the premises. Applicant must pay a $10.00 testing fee at the time of application. Please note: You may request that this fee be waived. Fee waivers will be approved upon showing verifiable proof of financial need. The Committee requires that applicants:
For further information, applicants should contact their nearest New York State Department of Labor office or the Local Union #237 at 716-297-3650. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
