Glenmont, NY (April 18, 2024) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Eastern New York Laborers Training Center will conduct a recruitment from May 30, 2024 through May 29, 2025 for 10 Skilled Construction Craft Laborer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.

Please note that total of 10 openings are for the Albany area and the Utica area. All applications must be completed onsite for both locations.

For the Albany area, applications can be obtained on the third Friday of each month, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., excluding legal holidays, at:

• The Eastern New York Laborers Training Center, 666 Wemple Road, Glenmont, NY 12077
• The Eastern Contractors Association, 6 Airline Drive, Albany, NY 12205
• The Laborers International Union, 348 Duanesburg Road, Schenectady, NY 12306

For the Utica area, applications will be available on the last Thursday of each month, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., excluding legal holidays, at 10 Main Street, Suite 205, Whitesboro, NY 13492.

The Committee requires that applicants:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED). Proof of education, such as a school transcript, is required at time of application.
• Must take physical examination and drug test at the sponsor’s expense after the offer of employment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license. Apprentices may be required to operate company vehicles.
• Must be a resident of New York State.
• Must have six months of construction experience.
• Must be able to work both day and evening shifts, as needed.
• Must have reliable means of transportation to and from various job sites and required classes at the approved school.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner.
