Whiteface & Gore Mountains Resume Snowmaking this Weekend

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Colder temperatures are coming back this weekend at both Whiteface and Gore Mountains. With day-time highs expected to only reach the upper teens and evening lows dropping into the single digits, management at both alpine ski resorts have decided to turn their snowguns back on.

Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, continues around the clock snowmaking, weather and conditions permitting, through Saturday. Guns are lined up along Boreen, Excelsior and summit trails.

Gore Mountain, in North Creek, rolled out their high-efficiency, low-energy guns onto Uncas, Ruby Run, Headwaters, the Saddle and the top of Bear Mountain.

If weather and conditions allow, snowmaking will also take place on the Echo trail on Burnt Ridge Mountain.

2017-’18 season passes are on sale now. Those who purchase their pass between now and the end of the season ski and ride the remainder of this season for free. Full season adult Ski 3 passes begin as low as $759.
