Boilermakers Recruit Apprentices |

Oswego, NY (February 26, 2019) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Boilermakers Northeast Area, Local Union #175, will conduct a recruitment from April 2, 2019 through March 3, 2020 for five boilermaker (construction) apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note, the five openings listed for boilermaker apprentices represent the total number for five recruitment regions – the Central, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, North Country, and Southern Tier regions. Applications can be obtained from Local Union #175 Lodge, 131 West 2nd St., Oswego, NY from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. If the first Tuesday of the month is a holiday, applications will be available on the first Wednesday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All applications must be received no later than March 3, 2020. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
