Insulation & Asbestos Workers Recruit Apprentices |

Long Island City, NY (January 31, 2020) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Heat & Frost Insulators, Local Union #12, will conduct a recruitment from March 5, 2020 through May 21, 2021 for 23 Insulation and Asbestos Worker apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the 30 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions – the Long Island and New York City regions of the state. Applications must be obtained in person at JATC for Heat & Frost Insulators Local Union #12, 15-32 127th Street, 1st Floor, College Point, NY, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., every Thursday, excluding legal holidays and excluding March 26, 2020, during the recruitment period. Applicants must bring a valid state or federal photo identification to pick up an application. All applicants will be assigned a date to bring back their completed applications and take an aptitude test. A $25.00 testing fee will be charged to each applicant. A money order for $25, made out to Local 12 AJEF, must be returned with the application. Please note: This fee may be waived upon request. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner.
