Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Recruit Apprentices |

For Immediate Release Watertown, NY (May 31, 2013) -- The Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers, Local Union #2 (Ogdensburg), will conduct a recruitment from June 3, 2013 through May 30, 2014 for five bricklayer, mason and plasterer apprentices, State Labor Commissioner PeterM. Rivera announced today. Applications can be obtained at: The Work Place, 1000 Coffeen Street, Watertown, NY 13601 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the St. Lawrence One-Stop Career Center, 80 State Highway 310, Suite 8, Canton, NY 13617 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Completed applications should be sent to Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local Union #2, 312 Pratt Street, Watertown, NY 13601. All applications must be received no later than June 6, 2014. For further information, applicants should contact their nearest New York State Department of Labor office or Local Union #2 at (315)-788-4774. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
