Metro-North Crews Make Port Jervis Line Upgrades this Weekend Substitute Bus Service Between Port Jervis and Ramsey-Route 17 in Effect from Friday Evening, March 9, Through Sunday Evening, March 11, to Accommodate Line Improvements
MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that this weekend, Metro-North crews will be out in force making improvements to the Port Jervis Line. The upgrades include installing a new cab signal system, welding and surfacing track, drainage work and laying additional ballast. To accommodate work that helps ensure the on-going reliability and safety of the Port Jervis Line, buses will substitute for trains between Port Jervis and Ramsey-Route 17 from Friday evening, March 9, through Sunday evening, March 11. Buses will depart at the same time as scheduled trains. Normal train schedules apply this weekend between Suffern and Secaucus/Hoboken. Buses will serve all stations between Sloatsburg and Port Jervis. Regular train service resumes on Monday, March 12 with the 3:50 a.m. train from Port Jervis to Hoboken. Service details are below: Orange County-bound: Friday, March 9: The 12:40 a.m. train from Hoboken will terminate at Suffern. Customers for all stations from Sloatsburg through Port Jervis will be able to connect with buses at Ramsey-Route 17 at 1:40 a.m. for continuing service. Orange County-bound: Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11: Buses substitute for all trains operating between Ramsey-Route 17 and Port Jervis. Buses will make all regularly scheduled train stops. Hoboken-bound: Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11: Buses substitute for all trains operating between Port Jervis and Ramsey-Route 17. Buses will make all regularly scheduled train stops.
