OGS ANNOUNCES FREE ‘HARLEMWEEN’ FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT AT THE ADAM CLAYTON POWELL, JR. STATE OFFICE BUILDING

October 31 Event to Feature Costume Contests, ‘Thriller’ Dance Party, Free Live Entertainment, and More

New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner Jeanette Moy today announced the annual HarlemWeen family-friendly event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31 at the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building located at 163 West 125th Street in Harlem.

“We’re gearing up for a ‘Thriller’ of a night at this year’s annual Harlemween event at the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building,”  Commissioner Moy said. “The OGS team invites everyone to put on their costumes and head to Harlem for some free, family-friendly fun on October 31. I want to thank all the generous sponsors, performers, and volunteers for making this holiday event possible.”

The event will be hosted by actor, storyteller, and poet Daniel Carlton, with music provided by DJ Stormin’ Norman.

There will be activities and performances throughout the event, including:

  • Multiple costume contests and a costume dance party featuring Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video
  • “Thriller” dance lessons with Michael Jackson tribute artist Moses Harper
  • A magic show with Jazzman “S” Magic
  • Stilt walking by Brooklyn Jumbies Inc.
  • Free hot beverages courtesy of Starbucks (while supplies last)
