Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx-Bound Weekend Lane Closures For Milling and Paving Work: Friday, November 4 to Sunday, November 6 |
|
Up to two Bronx-bound lanes will be closed this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge starting Friday night, November 4 through Sunday morning, November 6. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic. Queens-bound lanes are unaffected. Weekend work requires the following lane closures:
The paving work entails a total of at least six weekends in order to replace a total of 75,000 square feet of binder and asphalt overlay. Once the work is completed, motorists will have a smoother, more even driving surface. Motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly. The Bronx-Whitestone and the Robert F. Kennedy bridges can be used as alternate routes. This work is heavily dependent on suitable weather. The contractor cannot perform the work in rainy weather or in extreme humidity. Motorists can sign up for MTA e-mail or text alerts at mta.info for the latest information on this planned work. |
