New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Celebrates America’s Oldest Covered Bridge

What:  Hyde Hall Bridge, America’s oldest covered bridge, at New York State’s Glimmerglass State Park and Hyde Hall State Historic Site, turns 200 years old 

When:  Saturday, October 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, October 12) 

Where:  Glimmerglass State Park, 1527 County Highway 31, Cooperstown, NY 13326 

Who:  Glimmerglass State Park, Hyde Hall State Historic Site, New York State Covered Bridge Society, Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Resource Center, National Society for the Preservation of Covered Bridges are hosting festivities 

Details:  Family-friendly events and activities including: 

  • Souvenir booklet, commemorative postcard 
  • Music from specialists and Cooperstown High School students 
  • Classic car show 
  • Children’s activities 
  • Horse and buggy rides 
  • Special presentations
