Rescheduled Due to Impending Weather - DEC’s 11th Annual Environmental Excellence Award at the Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Albany is Rescheduled

Due to the inclement winter weather, the 11th Annual NYS Environmental Excellence Awards Ceremony has been RESCHEDULED as follows:

DATE: Wednesday January 14, 2015

LOCATION: Colleges of Nanoscale Science & Engineering, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, Albany, NY

TIME:  9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (event program remains the same) - Owens Corning tour2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. (must be registered, space is limited)

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens will recognize six organizations for their innovative programs and commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility and economic viability at DEC’s 11th Annual Environmental Excellence Awards ceremony. The event will take place at the Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s NanoFab South Rotunda and Auditorium in Albany at 10:00 a.m. and has been rescheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

Following the awards ceremony, there will be a tour of the Owens Corning facility in Feura Bush, NY. Owens Corning, a 2012 Environmental Excellence Award winner, is implementing clean-tech solutions and innovative process changes as part of the production of insulation from natural minerals, recycled glass and an innovative starch-based binder instead of a formaldehyde-based binder.

The awards ceremony is open to the public, however space is limited and those wishing to attend must pre-register at http://on.ny.gov/eearegistration.
