ADVISORY: MTA to Open New Third Avenue Bridge in Downtown Mt. Vernon, Fourth Bridge in the City in Three Years

Leaders from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and elected officials will cut the ribbon to open the newly built Third Avenue Bridge over Metro-North Railroad’s New Haven Line in downtown Mt. Vernon, N.Y. The bridge is the fourth bridge the MTA has opened in downtown Mt. Vernon in the past three years and second in three months. It replaces a 121-year-old bridge that was demolished in 2020.
