LIRR Making Extra Stops at Mets-Willets Point for Meadows Music & Arts Festival at Citi Field This Weekend, October 1-2

Port Washington Branch trains will stop at Mets-Willets Point Station for customers attending the Meadows Music and Arts Festival at Citi Field and Flushing Meadows tomorrow, Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2.

The Meadows Music and Arts Festival is promising to bring Kanye West and a whole lot more to Queens. More than 80,000 are expected to attend the event, which includes performances from Chance the Rapper, J. Cole, The 1975, Pretty Lights and Grimes. Food at the fest will deliver the flavor of Queens, dishing out local bites such as port tacos from Corona’s Totas Neza, Thai noodle soup from Pata Paplean in Elmhurst, and Nepalese momos from Dhaulagiri Kitchen in Jackson Heights.

LIRR customers can save money by buying rail tickets before boarding. Westbound service to Mets-Willets Point Statin will begin with the 9:11 a.m. train from Port Washington. Eastbound service will begin with 9:18 a.m. train from Penn Station.

Customers along other LIRR branches should consult branch timetables for service to Woodside, where transfers can be made to Port Washington Branch trains on Platform B for service to Mets-Willets Point. And don’t forget to take your train ticket with you when transferring at Woodside and have it ready for presentation at Mets-Willets Point.
