LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (October 23, 2017) --- Four athletes will vie for two remaining spots when the U.S. Paralympic Nordic team begins training, tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Mt. Van Hoevenberg Nordic Center , in Lake Placid, N.Y. This week’s camp marks the first time that these athletes, along with six development athletes, will be on snow this season. The Mt. Van Hoevenberg staff fired up the Technoalpin Snowfactory earlier this month in order to prepare and though temperatures have reached the upper 60’s on several occasions this autumn, the squad will be able to ski on 500 meters of snow with base depth of 18 to 24 inches. WHAT: United States Paralympic Nordic Ski Team on-snow training WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 24-Sunday, Oct. 28. Training, Tuesday-Saturday, begins at 8:30 a.m. Sunday’s training starts 8 a.m. WHO: 10 members of the United States Paralympic Nordic team.
