Take the LIRR & Save $5 On Admission to World Maker Faire at the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Park

Trains Are Making Extra Stops at Nearby Mets-Willets Point Station

Port Washington Branch trains will stop at Mets-Willets Point Station for customers attending the annual World Maker Faire at the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park this Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2, an event expected to draw some 10,000 people.

The World Makers Faire is part science fair, part county fair, and part some entirely new. It’s an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students and commercial exhibitors. All of these makers come to Maker Faire, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, to display their creations and share what they have learned.

If you plan to take the Long Island Rail Road, order your tickets on-line by midnight tonight (September 30) and you’ll save $5 on the purchase of two adult, single day admissions. To purchase visit MakerFaire.com or NYSCI.org. Use code WMF16_LIRR.

Westbound service to Mets-Willets Point Station begins with the 9:11 a.m. train from Port Washington. Eastbound service begins with 9:18 a.m. train from Penn Station. Customers along other LIRR branches should consult branch timetables for service to Woodside, where transfers can be made to Port Washington Branch trains traveling to Mets-Willets Point. And don’t forget to take your train ticket with you when transferring at Woodside and have it ready for presentation at Mets-Willets Point.
