Effective Immediately, DEC Re-Opens Vernooy Kill State Forest to Visitors

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is re-opening the Vernooy Kill State Forest, located in Ulster County, to visitors, including hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts, effective immediately.

The State Forest was temporarily closed on Sept. 28 and 30, to support the New York State Police’s ongoing search for Joshua Stuart.
